BoxSmart Mission and Aims

BoxSmart is an independent organisation run by its members for its members. Launched in 2008, it evolved from the Databox Users Group (DBug) to reflect technological and supplier changes and to provide a wider-ranging and more up-to-date service for its members.

The voluntary board of directors work on behalf of members to lobby and liaise, facilitate networking and learning and to pass on news of developments. BoxSmart is completely independent of suppliers, funders and other industry bodies, so that it operates in a non-partisan way for the interests of its members.

Some of the benefits which members receive are:

  • Access to the members only section of the BoxSmart website which includes networking forums, advice on a variety of box office related issues, information and links to useful partners and bodies
  • At least six email bulletins a year containing news, information, case studies, reports and reviews
  • The chance to take part in events, regional meetings, training events, seminars and conferences
  • Special offers on books, journals and other resources
  • Direct input to lobbying activities of the organisation

Membership is £75 + VAT (£86.25) for a year, with the membership being attributable to the organisation rather than a specific individual.
